2016 Ketch Tuscan Syrah Red Blend

Ketch was the first fully Red Mountain release from Genoa Cellars and continues to showcase the versatile Super Tuscan-style blends that can be produced from the amazing Red Mountain fruit. Elegant Red Mountain Syrah forms the basis of the Ketch blend and sets the style for the wines that followed — a Syrah-driven blend with Merlot and a splash of Sangiovese for lift. The 2016 shows dark plum, black pepper, and dried herb on the nose, with a smoky, savory edge that’s deepened with time in bottle. The palate is full yet supple, with softened tannins and a long, spice-driven finish that reflects several years of bottle age.
